100 WAVES
SOLO SHOW
To the artist, surfing is more than a sport — it’s a crack in the fabric of everyday life that reconnects her to nature’s most visceral force. This encounter with the vastness of the ocean, both overwhelming and strangely comforting, became the starting point for a series of 100 paintings created in 100 days. Through vibrant gouaches on small-format paper, the artist revisited waves she surfed and others that, through friends' stories, also became her own.
In this exhibition, painting and surfing intertwine as exercises in resilience and surrender. Just like in the sea, there are days when everything flows, and others when the current pulls against. These works oscillate between quick, instinctive gestures and contemplative moments, reflecting not only the multiplicity of the ocean but also the artist’s own inner tides. After all, we too are made of water — guided by tides, moons, and memories.
